Tough Man

Last Wednesday, Aug. 20th, was a typical day... My wonderful Mother-in-Law came over at 7:30am as she always does Mon-Wed. The kids were up and getting ready to brush teeth and have breakfast. I gave my hugs & kisses and got some in return, as I walk out the garage door to my car both kids shout "Have a good day mom! Don't let the work bugs bite, Don't let the car bugs bite, Love you!"

45 minutes after arriving at work I check my cell phone voicemail as I had felt it vibrate about 15 minutes earlier. Brianna was screaming & crying and Brice was crying... My Mother-in-Law was trying to remain calm and said that Brice hit his head, it was bleeding a lot & she thought he might need stitches.

I made some quick arrangements and left work immediately. When I got home, the kids were laughing and happy. Brice's cut was still bleeding, I asked what happened... Brice proceeded to show me how he was running and then crashed into the corner of the wall & fell down. He has gotten pretty good at telling the story! Apparently Brianna was pretty upset over the whole ordeal. She did not like the fact that Brice might need to have stitches & according to my Mother-in-Law, Brianna told her "You should have watched him better!" What a protective big sis! Little does she know, Boys will be Boys :)

I decided to take him in & lucky for us they were able to use the Dermabond and glued the laceration shut. He was such a tough boy, all smiles and doing just what the Doctor said. He held still and let the doctor do what he needed to do to take care of it. He got to pick 3 stickers for doing such a great job. He picked out a mo-mo, a police car and one special for sister... Pooh (all his idea!) On our way out he said, "That Doctor fun! Like going to Doctor!"

Thank goodness I have a tough little man!

His cut was still bleeding when I got home, about 45 minutes after he split it open. The picture is kinda blurry but he was telling me the story of what happened.
The dermabond stayed on for 5 1/2 days, just about right according to the paper the Doctor gave me. It was starting to peel off, he wouldn't let me touch it or pick at it, but let Brian take it off tonight. It may not scar, but I have a feeling that my perfect little boy will now have a permanent reminder of his wild and crazy days. If he is anything like his danger loving father, this is just the beginning!
