Rainy Day's

Well we were supposed to go on our last camping trip of the summer this weekend. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate! We cancelled our plans and hung out around the house.

As a result of cancelling our plans, Brianna got to go to a Birthday party. Instead of using wrapping paper, Brianna made her own - with a little help from Bricen and mom.

The finished product... We had a lot of fun doing this!

Last weekend, my mom, sister-in-law and I got together and made lots of applesauce. It turned out very yummy!

With the weather forecast the way it is, looks like I am going to have to come up with many more rainy day activities!

Good Bye Summer, Hello School

We have had a busy and fun summer, but I am glad that school is now in session again. Both kids have really been looking forward to starting school, seeing their friends and playing.

Bricen started his 2nd year of preschool. He is going to Albany Christian again and will be there 3 times a week this year. Of course I want to capture each moment and Brice and I had just got back from walking Brianna to the bus stop here. In true Bricen fashion these days he had a few whiny words and unpleasant things to say before finally smiling for the picture. I finally convinced him that it would only take a minute and then we would head to school. As soon as we got to his classroom he saw his buddy Isiah, the train table we donated and dinosaurs. What could be better! He ran in and was very excited to start the day. No tears, no please stay mom, just ready for his school day.
He reports having a great time and can't wait to go back.
Brianna had been a little nervous for school this year. Lunch was the big worry... I think it was more about the unknown than anything else. She decided that bringing a lunch would be the best option and we picked out a cute lunch bag to match her backpack. When we did the meet and greet with her new teacher, she went through everything and felt a little more comfortable. The night before school, we packed lunch and picked out the first day of school clothes. She was giddy with excitement (it was very cute to see her so excited)

She is so grown up, I just can't believe she is going to school for a whole day now and riding the bus! What a big girl.Brian and I both went on the first morning and she was very excited. She got watery eyes when we gave hugs goodbye. She rode the bus home and was very eager to tell us all about the day. Here they are waiting for the bus the next morning. I think so far this is one of her favorite parts of the day. I am so impressed that she has adjusted to the new year so well. All of her best friends are in the other class, but already she has made new friends and loves her teacher. I am hopeful that this will be a great year!

Ahh to be a Dog!

There are many responsibilities that as adults, we all have. In fact other than when I am away somewhere on Vacation, I can not think of a time when I have had nothing to do. Most of the time even if on Vacation, I still have plenty to think about. Wouldn't it be nice if we never had to cook, clean, work, discipline children. It would be great to be served my food and be given treats whenever I went potty where I was supposed to, play when I wanted to play, sleep when I wanted to sleep and have no responsibilities.

OR Maybe not! I guess I am glad to be a human and not a dog. I forgot to mention all of the torture a dog has to put up with.

State Fair

While Brian was running Hood to Coast, the kids and I decided it would be good timing to hit the State Fair. We invited my mom and sister-in-law for a day of fun. We saw a few animals but not many this year, as our focus was on the Dino's and the rides! This year Bricen was actually tall enough to go on many of the rides which he thought was pretty fun. Lucky for me, Angie was there to help out and go on the ones he needed an adult to accompany him on. (I am not much into the ride thing - that type of motion + me = sick momma)

Nothing says "Fair" like the carousel, an elephant ear, and blow up hammers!

The Dinosaur exhibit was pretty cool, not quite as interactive as I had thought it would be, but fun. The kids thought it was pretty neat to see all the big Dino's, especially Brice he just loves them.
