New Deck

Our latest home improvement did not take much physical labor on our part. Yay! We hired T-N-T Builders to demolish our old deck and replace it with Trex Decking. We also got a new hot tub to relax in. Here are some pictures of the deck start to finish.

I liked our deck & thought "Why replace something that is perfectly good" Brian on the other hand said it needed to go! He really wanted the Trex because it is virtually maintenance free. I wanted to go cheep and stain wood.

Brian got to sit inside and watch as our old deck was ripped out and the base of our new deck was installed. They did this in 1/2 a day. Would have taken us at least a week!

Since we really liked the way the old deck was, we decided to go with something pretty similar. It still has benches and railing & looks better than I could have imagined. Brian is almost always right. I am glad we went with the Trex now.

Brianna and Brice wanted to help show off the new deck and hot tub.
Brianna is striking her Vana pose.

This picture is just priceless they really do love eachother.

Just Starting Out

I have heard how much fun blogging is and what it has meant to a few people so.... I decided I'd give it a try. I always have good intentions to keep everyone up to date on all that is happening in our neck of the woods, but it seems that time slips away so fast. There are many things I intend to put on here but, please bear with me as this will be a work in progress.

Speaking of a work in progress...

We have spent the last year updating our house and trying to make it our own. We have done many things & a few took major priority for me. Brianna's room was one that I knew the moment we saw it - it just had to go. It only took me 9 months to get to, but finally in January it made it's transformation. From pink flowers everywhere to a cute little girls room that will grow with Brianna.

Brianna didn't mind the pink flowers, hey at least it was pink! But it was everywhere, the walls, the closet doors, inside the closet, the outlet covers and even the light switch cover. The previous owners were wall paper masters & believe me I am no fan of wall paper!

I had some very good helpers!

Brianna helped pick everything out for her room transformation. The paint color, her comforter, the decorations, the curtains, everything! She has such good taste :)

Not only did we paint, but this was our (really it was just Brian's) first venture at scraping down popcorn celing. And low and behold, it was pretty painless (I say that of course because I wasn't in the room when he did it - but it seemed pretty painless) Brian then re-textured the whole room.

Brianna is so excited about the finished product that she just can't contain herself.

JUMPIN FOR JOY

We opted for these purple curtains to go across the closet. Much easier than trying to get pink flowered wall paper off of the panels on the closet doors.

With each project we do, it looks more and more like our home.
